Our final Oil & Gas project

### East of Aberdeen in the UK sector of the Central North Sea stands The Culzean project, a gas condensate development.

In September 2015 Sembmarine SLP were awarded the construction only contract from our parent company, Singapore-based Sembmarine Offshore Platforms (SMOP) to fabricate the Power Generation Module and two bridge links.

Going global

Look at the stats

Little did we know, it would take our team around the world, and be our heaviest project to date... We’re all guilty of skimming over the numbers from time to time. But this time, you’re going to want to pay attention. Sembmarine SLP fabricated over 4,000 tonnes of materials – but it doesn’t stop there. Culzean was the heaviest project we had worked on at this time, with the combined weight of all topsides, Power Generation Module (PGM) and two bridges weighing in at over 30,000 tonnes.

Let’s put that in perspective. The topsides were completed in our global yards over 32 months, and at the time of building were expected to handle up to 500 million standard cubic feet per day of gas and 25,000 barrels per day of condensate, fully complying with UK safety regulations for harsh-environment operations in the Culzean field.

Specialist support

Keeping the project and energy flowing

To support SMOP, we drew upon our contacts around the globe, providing personnel in Singapore to define and set up the offshore work packs.

We understand the issues that multi-national projects can generate, which is why we also supported with procurements, customs clearance and visa applications, this ensured the project ran as smoothly as possible, one of our top priorities. That’s why we also assisted on warranty issues as part of our support, keeping the energy flowing.

In 2018, the project was completed on time, on budget, and safely.
